Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs - (1993-Present)
(A national program sponsored by Future Fisherman Foundation). Our
club has donated many hours of classroom instruction as well as taking
elementary school students from various districts (East China, Memphis, and Port
Huron). We supply all bait, tackle, and lunch for everyone. In 2004,
we have 120 students participating.

Blue Water Classic
This is Michigan's largest classic salmon tournament. This
tournament is held in May each year. The tournament's success is the
direct result of over a hundred volunteers and a variety of businesses in
several counties who donate equipment and donations (both monetary and/or
otherwise) to make this one of the best tournaments in the state of Michigan.

Salmon Stakes Tournament
The tournament is held in April each year. The BWSA
has helped to raise over $1,250,000 to date to help support the Blue Water
Mental Health Clinic.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family
Our club adopts families each year by purchasing and delivering food and
gifts during the Christmas season to needy families in the area.
DNR
The BWSA
has purchased and donated a Night Vision Scope and a Spotting Scope for
officers. This aids in the protection of our wildlife and fisheries from
poachers.
Fish Pens in Harbor Beach
Our club has donated over $2,000 for pens to rear fingerling trout to be
released in the Harbor Beach area.
Reef in Lower Lake Huron
The BWSA
organized and constructed this reef at a cost of $36,000 in 1988. The reef
was constructed to create habitat providing spawning grounds and refuge for
fish. The reef is located off Lakeport State Park.

Fish Cleaning Station, Lexington, Mi.
Our club donated $5,000 to the construction and equipment. This
station is located at the DNR Harbor.
Fish Hatchery, Port Edward, Ontario, Canada
The BWSA
regularly contributes to the Blue Water Anglers hatchery program. This
hatchery program releases over 150,000 chinook salmon and 50,000 rainbow trout a
year !
Club Fishing Tournaments
These tournaments are self-supporting to encourage members and
non-members, of all ages, to enjoy the sport of fishing. Currently there
are 9 tournaments a season.

St. John's Marsh Preservation Project
The BWSA
is active in supporting reservation of the wetlands
St. Clair County Library (Children's Sectioni)
The BWSA
has donated a 50 gallon fish tank and fishing equipment (valued at over
$500). The equipment can be checked out with a regular library card.
Our club maintains the fishing tackle and supplies as needed.
Port Sanilac Fish Cleaning Station
Our club has donated $10,000 in the support of construction and
equipping the project. BWSA was also involved in the architectural design of the station.
Fishing Forever Banquet
This fund raising banquet and raffle allowed the BWSA
to donate $ 15,000 to promote and preserve sport fishing in southeast Michigan.

Fly Tying Classes for Youths
One of our members, Vic Ruehle teaches this class (materials sponsored
by our club) to all 4 middle schools here in the Port Huron area.
